Dev Hynes as Blood Orange just released his highly anticipated fourth album titled Negro Swan. This stacked 16-track album includes several features including Steve Lacy, A$AP Rocky and Tei Shi. Negro Swan is extremely diverse and is one of the most exciting releases of the summer. Hynes collaborated with many different types of artists, made each song sound like a different genre without straying from his roots and had men and women narrate stories and describe experiences on top of his instrumentals in several different occasions throughout the album.
Hynes stated, “My newest album is an exploration into my own and many types of black depression, an honest look at the corners of black existence, and the ongoing anxieties of queer/people of color. A reach back into childhood and modern traumas, and the things we do to get through it all. The underlying thread through each piece on the album is the idea of HOPE, and the lights we can try to turn on within ourselves with a hopefully positive outcome of helping others out of their darkness.”

Blood Orange will be making his rounds through North America and Europe this fall. Be sure to catch him at his headlining shows or Life Is Beautiful! Click here for tickets. Click here for Life Is Beautiful tickets.
