Winter is not just our favorite season, it’s also the name of an amazing band from singer/songwriter Samira Winter. Out on Burger Records, the new single, “Jaded”, addresses how draining touring and the music industry in general can be. We’ve all been there, but what adds a personal touch to the song is the story of a band not even caring about their live performance because they’re so over it. The song was written after a performance at Non Plus Ultra which recently was shut down due to an overzealous zoning and fire enforcement code in response to disasters like Ghost Ship.

Winter is a nice refreshing listen in the hot summer sun and we can’t wait to catch her performance at Desert Daze this October. For more, check our video of the band at The Echo by our favorite videographer around, Johann Ramos.

Winter plays a few shows before the giant Joshua Tree fest in October, so if you’re lucky enough to catch some performances, count yourself blessed. You’ll still be able to listen to her tunes all summer long though, so we’ll keep you cool with upcoming news about Winter.
