Tropicalia Fest was one of the best first year fests we’ve ever been to, and some bands are starting to trickle out as hinted at/confirmed. Thus far, Yellow Days announced an appearance on November 4thfor the second annual event in Long Beach, and Observatory, the venue responsible for the fest, just hinted that Cuco will be playing. Among other hints are Chicano Batman, Homeshake, Clairo, Los Angeles Azules, and either Mazzy Star, or Hope Sandoval’s solo act.

Cuco played Tropicalia last year, and is tearing up the festival circuit, especially Goldenvoice based events like Coachella and the first year, Indio centric, Chella fest for locals, so he’s an obvious choice for Tropicalia 2018.

Observatory also doesn’t mess around with confirming bands. For example, they’d famously post images of Tyler, the Creator, before announcing one of the coolest mini-fests around  with him, Clairo, Bane’s World, and more, which you can read about here.

We’re excited for the upcoming event, and hope that the lineup is announced soon. The already tremendous hype surrounding Yellow Day’s early confirmation, reached fever pitch, and months later, even closer to the date of the fest, they’re just getting started dropping hints that bands like Mac DeMarco play.

Tropicalia 2018 is already starting to heat up as one of the hottest fests of the year.

Cuco is also playing Shrine Auditorium this week with Portugal. The Man, and tickets are still available. You can check more details on that show here.
