Following a month of post-SXSW touring throughout Midwest and the West Coast, Sadgirl returned to Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom for one hell of a homecoming. Once the lo-fi surf punks took the stage amidst warped VHS visuals, blissful bedlam ensued and didn’t let up for the rest of the night as fans, support acts and even frontman Misha Lindes dove into the packed, sweaty moshpit for a surf.
With The Paranoyds’ David Ruiz on drums and Laila Hashemi on keys, the set really drove home how blessed we are to have a local scene as closely knit as a cinematic universe. Openers Peach Kelli Pop got the audience properly energized with a set of infectious new material from their upcoming Record Store Day EP Which Witch and the just-announced album Gentle Leader.
