If you haven’t seen Thundercat recently, you’re really missing out. The one of a kind artist mixes deep funk, soulful grooves and his eclectic costumes and anime references to some of the best venues and festivals this year. As we found out at Coachella however, snagging a good spot to his set can be pretty challenging. Have no fear though as he’ll be gracing late night with his particular and amazing brand of weird.
June 5th, Thundercat will be performing “Show You The Way”, off most recent album, Drunk, with Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald. The debut marks the Grammy-winning musician/producer’s first time on NBC in a not to miss night of television.
The appearance marks a whirlwind tour with stops at FYF, Glastonbury, Outsidelands and other huge international festivals.
Our recommendation if you can’t afford the flight to the big summer fests though is local stops like Observatory. The musician put on a cheap show that was easily accessible to Southern Californian residents who couldn’t be bothered to suffer through Coachella’s intense heat or crowded sets. Seeing one of the most in demand artists at our favorite go to venue in California was definitely the best way to go.
If you missed out on Observatory, make sure to catch Thundercat September 2nd at The Glass House, and some of the biggest and best international festivals this summer.
